Thankfully, I got a lot more reading done this month! Not so much more writing posts or the memoir I’ve been wanting to write for years, but plenty of reading. Most of it was done in the first half of the month as it helped me get through the trying time of getting our things moved and closing on the house. It was such a headache and I’m greatful to have had some fictional friends to buoy my mood, especially Laia and Elias and Helene. I went back and reread the entire series in preparation for A Sky Beyond the Storm and continue to go back to my favorite scenes.
Below are the reviews posted along the way on Instagram along with links to purchase those you are interested in from a few booksellers. I do get a commission if you use the link to purchase but it’s there for your convenience. Feel free to click and save it for later on Goodreads as well, also linked.
This is an online literary magazine, it can be found here.
This is the final set of reviews for the year, which is exciting in it’s own way. Soon there will be a new resolution, a new idea for what I should be reading or writing about or sharing. I’m also working on a comprehensive list of all the books I’ve been recommending for the observances and celebrations this year with affiliate links to help everyone find them along with the dates the recommendations correspond to. That may not end up ready until later in January. The monthly recommendations posts will have those links added too. They do give me a commission, but no pressure or expectation. I always thought of them as considerate additions to pages I’ve been on and am trying to do the things I’ve appreciated in others!
More than that, this year I will be rebooting my life in almost every way. I’m going to a new home in a new city, possibly starting a second career but at least a new job that may not even have much to do with my old one. I don’t even know how long it will take to get a job or a house. We’ll be staying with some family in the beginning and figuring things out.
As life coincidences go, it is in the midst of all this that my hold on Marie Kondo’s Joy at Work finally came up. Lots I of great insights on restructuring my professional life! I may need to reread (or re-listen to) The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up to get my head straight for moving in when we do find a house….
So glad 2020 is over and I hope a better year for everyone!
